Heather Durham is one of the founding members of the U.S. Green Building Council Northern California Chapter, Silicon Valley branch. As program chairwoman for the Silicon Valley branch, she has helped shape its educational programs in 2008, 2009 and 2010.

In 2009, Durham launched Silicon Valley - Technology, Art, Green and Sustainability, a cable TV show aimed at educating the public, connecting them to what’s happening with technology, art, green and sustainability in Silicon Valley and beyond. When she thought of the acronym SVTAGS in 2006, the term “green washing” was not yet coined and she wanted to help people sort through “what’s green and what was not!” Durham has continued on with this venture of SVTAGS this year with the production of speaker events, how-to events events and some other events listed on her Meetup.com site. Durham also works with a select client list on marketing, public relations, events, community outreach, social media and other advertising related tasks. In Los Gatos, she has served on the board of Soroptimist International and is involved in many other civic duties.

Durham is a native to California and was born in Los Gatos the first year that Good Samaritan Hospital opened to the public. She loves to hike the mountains of Los Gatos in her spare time with her dog Aurora.
