Hey, 'Zack'! Santa Cruz Cops Are Looking for You!
Help police identify this battery suspect.
The Santa Cruz Police Department is looking for a male, possibly named Zack, who is suspected of battering a hotel employee around 2:30 a.m. Monday.
The man appeared to be intoxicated, police said, when he requested a Hotel Paradox employee call him a cab.
When the taxi did not arrive quickly enough, the subject reportedly punched the hotel employee and then left in the cab -- which the punched employee was kind enough to call for him, police said.
The cabbie pulled over when alerted by police, but the suspect jumped from the back seat and fled, police said.
The male said his name was Zack and he lived around 26th or 27th avenues, according to the department.
Police are hoping someone will recognize the suspect and call, or submit an anonymous tip via the smartphone app or Website.
